Downtown Portland Maine

Downtown Portland bay ME: by Sean Bortolan

This is a photograph I took in downtown Portland Maine a place I have always enjoyed going to. I have been here many times and still enjoy going, I feel at peace when I am there as I enjoy walking up and down the docks looking at all the boats and love the towns feel. it was busy over the break with lots of people on every street. The sun perceives it as being warm however it was brisk but there was not a drop of wind.

On the right side we can see some lobster/fishing boats that are docked and on the left a couple tourist boats the one further away being named "Wabanaki" which I found interesting and wonder if they take you out to a piece of land that was once inhibited by the Wabanaki people. The bay was calm and there were a few small fish swimming around the boats.

This photo was taken one dock away from the first photo and it shows another lobster boat docked to an old dock with a building in the background that is deteriorating at a rapid rate but it has probably been there for many many years. the building and the dock are both still in use and many fisherman bring in there fresh catch to this bay and the fisheries in the area, there were boats out on the water however based on the amount of boats out that day it didn't seem like a great day for fishing I have always enjoyed my walks around docks and exploring new and old places because sometimes you go back to a place and notice something you never did before even if you have seen it many times.
